Australian Airports

International travellers arriving into an Australia airport normally arrive after a long haul across the Pacific or Indian Oceans arriving into Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth.

Australian AirportsOther International Australian airports include Cairns, Darwin and the Gold Coast which are each gateways to significant tourist areas of Australia.

Over 4 million visitors arrive in Australia every year and over half of those visitors arrive at Australia's busiest airportSydney's Kingsford Smith Airport.

Hobart and Canberra both have International Australian Airports however neither receive regular tourist flights. Lying mid way between them, Canberra International Airport receives only overflow from Melbourne and Sydney in the cases of bad weather.

Apart from redirected International flights, the Canberra Airport has not received a regular international flight for many years. Most International travellers destined for Canberra normally transit in Sydney or Melbourne.
