Hunter Valley Travel
The Hunter
Valley is a region of New
South Wales in Australia and is a
major wine growing region.
Tours of vineyards and wine tasting
tours are a huge industry.
The Pokolbin district, in the Lower Hunter Valley in New South Wales, is one of Australia's premier wine regions. Viticulture in the region has a long history, the first vineyards being established in the 1850's.
Pokolbin is something of a cross between a village and a district: it's a collection of vineyards and very small villages (Lovedale, Mount View and Rothbury), it doesn't have a single center that could be thought of as a township.
Newcastle is at the
mouth of the Hunter River,
approximately 150 km north of Sydney
in the Hunter Valley region of New
South Wales, Australia. The second
largest city in the state of NSW and
sixth largest of Australia had an
population of 137,000 in 2001 (newest
data), Newcastle is the focal point
for a diverse district that
encompasses beaches and mountains,
restaurants and wineries.
Maitland (population 50 100) is a small city located in the Lower Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia.
