High Country Travel
The High Country is a region of
the state of Victoria in Australia. It
extends down from the wine regions in
the mid north-east of the state to the
alpine regions to their south.
Albury-Wodonga is a twin city
straddling the Murray River border of the
two south-eastern Australian states of New
South Wales and Victoria. Albury is the
city on the New South Wales bank of the
river, Wodonga the Victorian city on the
southern bank.
Beechworth is a town in the
High Country of the state of Victoria
in Australia. It is notable for its
historical precinct and associations with
outlaw bushranger Ned Kelly.
Mount
Buller is a ski resort 250km
north-east of Melbourne, with 850ha of
resort terrain, satisfies a wide range
of skiers.
At only 3 hours drive from Melbourne, Mt
Buller is popular with day trippers from
Melbourne, but also boasts 7000 beds on the
mountain itself. The mountain itself rises
to 1805m above sea level, with average snow
depth during winter of 1.5m.
